How to play Manni
Objective
Score the most points across the round sequence by fulfilling your declared contract each hand.
Setup
- Four players, 13 cards each from a standard deck.
- Each round has a declared contract type chosen in rotation.
Rules
- Contracts alternate between positive (take tricks) and negative (avoid tricks or specific cards) goals.
- Follow suit if possible; the highest card of the led suit wins unless trump is in play.
- Positive contracts score for each trick taken; negative contracts deduct for each penalty card captured.
- Every contract type is played once by each player before the game ends.
Strategy tips
- Track which contracts remain — the last few rounds decide the game.
- Dump dangerous high cards during positive rounds.
- In negative rounds, being void in a suit is worth more than holding low cards.
