How to play Crazy Eights
Objective
Be the first player to get rid of every card in your hand.
Setup
- Two to four players; five cards each (seven for two players).
- One card is turned up to start the discard pile.
Rules
- Play a card matching the top card's rank or suit.
- An Eight is wild — play it any time and declare the next suit.
- If you can't play, draw from the stock until you can (or once, in the quick variant).
- The first player to empty their hand wins; others score penalty points for their remaining cards.
Strategy tips
- Save one Eight for an emergency.
- Track which suit each opponent keeps drawing on.
- Dump high-value cards first in case someone goes out.
