How to play Spit
Objective
Be the first to get rid of all your cards.
Setup
- The deck is split evenly; each player builds a five-pile layout with 1–5 cards.
- The remaining cards form each player's spit pile.
Rules
- Both players play simultaneously — there are no turns.
- Play any exposed layout card onto either centre pile if it is one rank above or below the top card.
- Aces connect to both Kings and 2s.
- When both players are stuck, each flips a spit card to start new centre piles.
- Empty your layout to win the round; the loser takes the smaller centre pile.
Strategy tips
- Scan both centre piles constantly — most misses are on the pile you weren't watching.
- Prioritise cards from piles with the fewest cards left.
- Speed beats optimisation here.
