How to play Checkers
Objective
Capture all your opponent's pieces or leave them with no legal move.
Setup
- Each player has 12 pieces on the dark squares of the first three rows.
Rules
- Pieces move one square diagonally forward.
- Capture by jumping an adjacent opposing piece into an empty square beyond it.
- Captures are mandatory, and multi-jumps must be completed.
- A piece reaching the far row becomes a king and may move and capture backwards.
Strategy tips
- Hold your back row as long as possible — it stops the opponent kinging.
- Trade pieces when you're ahead in material.
- Because captures are forced, you can bait the bot into a losing exchange.
