How to play Sea Battle
Objective
Sink all five of your opponent's ships before they sink yours.
Setup
- Each player has a 10×10 grid and five ships: lengths 5, 4, 3, 3 and 2.
- Ships are placed horizontally or vertically and may not overlap.
Rules
- Players alternate firing at a single coordinate on the enemy grid.
- Each shot is reported as a hit or a miss.
- When every cell of a ship is hit, that ship is sunk and announced.
- The first player to sink all five enemy ships wins.
Strategy tips
- Fire in a checkerboard pattern to find ships faster.
- After a hit, probe the four adjacent cells to find the ship's axis.
- Spread your own ships out — clustered fleets die together.
